
Senior Research Analyst
Kate Kimball joined the Crescendo team in 2021 and has since been a dedicated contributor to the organization’s mission of creating positive change for individuals, organizations, and communities. Kate holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications with a focus in journalism from Adelphi University, as well as a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Southern Maine.
Before joining the Crescendo team, Kate developed extensive experience in substance use prevention and community education around Opioid Use Disorder. Her previous work includes coordinating primary prevention efforts targeting youth, parents, schools, law enforcement, and entire communities to reduce youth substance use across Mid Coast and Southern Maine. She also led a county-wide needs assessment to better understand opioid and stimulant use trends, created data-driven visual and digital communication materials, and supported the evaluation of a police-assisted addiction recovery program in Maine. Additionally, Kate has worked as a freelance journalist for several local news outlets in New York, Rhode Island, and Portland, Maine. Today, Kate is deeply passionate about working with behavioral healthcare systems, area agencies on aging, and other organizations that serve underserved populations.
Outside of her work with Crescendo, Kate enjoys spending time with her family, visiting her roots in Rhode Island, and taking advantage of the outdoor opportunities New England has to offer.
